Last year I competed on Railsday, June 4th and created what eventually became barguide.dk. At that time Rails was still a relatively novel technology and only the earliest adopters knew about it.

Things have changed a lot since then. We have come a long way and thousands of developers have worked their way into both Ruby and Rails.

Although I would find it fun to compete again I must admit that I feel Railsday was so 2005. Rails has moved from the early adopters and into the mainstream in the year that has gone by. A contest simply wouldn't have the same feel to it - besides now everyone knows what can be done with Rails in 24 hours so the competition would probably be ruthless.
