My server crashed and burned yesterday, apparently the first drive of the mirror failed and I didn't notice… so when the second one died it was bad news. I am still in the process of rebuilding everything, I didn't have one complete backup of wwwroot, just the code to my projects on my local machine…. so lots of IIS settings and file copying.

This also gives me the opportunity to kill a couple of projects that haven’t really worked out. The first is gamedevblogs which I started a long time ago to blog about writing applications for gameboy advance. Coding for that platform is a ton of fun, but I found that both the hobby and the blogging ended up being a casualty of not having enough time. I also killed soawiki.org, it started out strong but when spiders routinely reset pages and I stopped spending time every day reseting them it quickly became useless. The last is politicalblogs.org. I really enjoyed my political blog, and I plan on starting another one, but I want to distance myself from it for a little bit and think about what I should do on that front.

It actually feels good to have these down and put away.
