In an effort to keep track of what I've read, and in the hopes that it may help others
find some gems, I'm going to keep a list of books that I read each month. This
page will be continually updated.
Aug 2005
Basic
Economics -
Excellent overview of economics and the forces behind it. A light-bulb went
off when I read about price controls...never realized how powerful of a role that
plays.
The
Rule of Four -
Awesome novel. Similar to the Da Vinci Code, but more academic in nature.
Effective
C# -
Excellent book with tons of tips. Learned a lot from it.
Agile
Software Development -
Great book that really shows you how to write better software. Also has some
great discussions on patterns.
Naked
Economics -
Great book. Does a great job of demonstrating the benefits of globalization
- even for the poor and developing countries. Makes economics interesting.
The
Worldly Philosophers -
Really good read. Brings the famous economists to life and presents their ideas
and an entertaining way.
ASP.NET
2.0: Developer's Notebook -
Decent...one of the better out of what's currently available. Very “HOW-TO“
ish though vs. a good tutorial.
Visual
C# 2005: A Developer's Notebook -
Pretty good. Liked it better than the ASP.NET book. Again, one of the
better ones out of what's currently available.
