I’ve heard and read a lot of comments over the months about why can’t we build applications for the 1.1 framework using the VS 2005 IDE?  Simple.  VS 2005 only targets the 2.0 framework.  However, it appears as though making the IDE target multiple versions of the framework is something they are taking seriously and working on.

One of the Visual Studio developers, John Rivard, has started blogging as of yesterday, and he starts off wonderfully by explaining Why Visual Studio targets only one version of the .NET Framework.  No need for me to elaborate any more on the subject, John does a wonderful job of explaining.
