With the launch of SharePoint 2010, Microsoft moved forward considerably on the Completeness of Vision axis and forward on the Ability to Execute Axis to overtake IBM for the first time ever and move into the No. 1 position on Gartner’s 2010 Horizontal Portals Magic Quadrant.

The report credits Microsoft for being the only large portal vendor with a bona fide cloud portal offering, a strong strategy for helping customers use and adopt it and for seeding the portal market for enormous growth.

Also states - Google's offering remains fragmented, and lacks the granularity of security, personalization and depth of integration to qualify as a true enterprise portal framework
