Gartner has published its Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Content Management, which sees Microsoft maintain its position in the Leader’s quadrant over last year’s report. This year Microsoft has overtaken IBM on Ability to Execute, and pulled further away from Open Text and EMC.

Gartner notes SharePoint’s large partner ecosystem as a strength, and also points out that SharePoint goes well beyond basic content management into portal, search, and collaboration technologies.
