This is cool. There is a new Gnome project called Beagle. It is supposed to be an experimental tool for indexing and searching data. It is coded in C# and uses Lucene.Net. Lucene is a very popular indexer and search tool for Java. It will be interesting to see how this evolves.

It is also related to Dashboard project. Dashboard is a tool that shows you data and files based on the context you are working on. This is something like Implicit Query from Microsoft Research demoed at COMDEX Las Vegas 2003 during Bill Gates' keynote.
