2 Weeks to go ... I am really excited about my next trip to Amsterdam.
I just love this city, a heady mix of cultures divided into 90 islands linked
by picturesque bridges. Speaking about the friends, I am really sad for not beeing
able to meet frankti, who is not there during the
TechEd. He is one of my best friends and also one of the greatest guys I ever
met. He is surely the major reason why I like Amsterdam so much. I am staying
at Dikker and Thijs Fenice Hotel located in the
heart of the ancient city on the beautiful Prinsengracht Canal, at the corner
of the Leidsestraat. Great place with a beautiful view over the canal,
colorful and alive by day and romantic by night. Sometimes I wish to live there.
If you are asking yourself how to make the most of a TechEd - Tim Sneath posted some
great tips and
also published an extract of
the current session database.
And last but not least, here are my tips for "must visit" places ;-)
Rijksmuseum Stadhouderskade 42 (674 70 47).
By far the largest museum in the Netherlands, housed in a monumental neo-renaissance
building designed by PJH Cuypers.
Begijnhof
Just off Amsterdam's main shopping allee you'll find the Begijnhof, a secluded court
of almshouses with a quiet innergarden and the English Reformed Church in their midst.
Chez
Georges Herenstraat 3 (626 33 32).
Lavish and delicious cooking by Belgian chef-patron Georges Roorda in his intimate
Jordaan restaurant. Excellent service.
Bimhuis Oude Schans 73-77 (623 13 61).
Internationally renowned contemporary jazz venue. Stages well-known international
artists as well as local talent.
INETA BoF
