I made it to Redmond earlier today, and spent some time walking around near my hotel. It was a pretty poor way to spend Father's Day, compared to spending time with my family, but I managed to enjoy it a little bit. There is a place called the Redmond Town Center that is adjacent to my hotel- I really wish we had something like this in the St. Louis area. Basically, it is an outdoor mall with some neat restaurants, some good stores, and a movie theater. The only place that I've seen that is similar is in the metro-Chicago area. Places like this, along with some kind of reasonable public transportation options, would really make suburban life a lot more enjoyable.
