In the cloud deployment is a reality - I just ran across this in the Seaside mailing list:

Here's a proof of concept implementation of Seaside on Amazon Ec2:
http://ec2-67-202-37-186.compute-1.amazonaws.com/seaside
It's using the Seaside One-click Experience running behind Apache on a single instance.

Now, that url may well not be active by the time you see this; the poster did say that it's a proof of concept. However, it's a proof of concept for a real application server (Seaside) running in the cloud (Amazon EC2). Put S3 behind it for persistent storage, and map a Smalltalk dictionary to SimpleDB, and you really have something...
