PC World reports on a truly cool thing from HP: a laptop that can go for 24 hours with a single charge:

Hewlett-Packard (HP) will release a laptop next month that can run for to 24 hours using a high-capacity battery -- but only if it's running Microsoft's Windows XP operating system.

I do find it marginally amusing that they'll be shipping this with XP rather than Vista - but the interesting part is what they are using to extend the life. Better battery tech yes, but also this: SSD disk, and an Illumi-Lit LED screen.

For traveling professionals, this is the kind of thing that makes a huge difference - Apple will have to step up with the Air, or risk losing out.
