Well,for all my excitement, there's a pretty nasty downside to the new FIOS service: the wireless router they gave me doesn't seem to work and play well with Macs. Try this search and you'll see what I mean.

I finally just gave up, attached my old router to the network, and set it up as an access point - it now allocates IP addresses in a different range than the FIOS router. The good news: it all works. The bad news - kludgy. At least my wife's MacBook will get on the air when I have to go out of town...
