This looks like an interesting Firefox plugin (supposedly it will go to IE as well) - MashLogic:
Users must download a Firefox plugin to use it, but thereâs no toolbar. Instead, you simply change the settings to tell it what kind of information youâd like to have included on web pages. Links to Wikipedia is an easy one. But it also has company links to LinkedIn to show you people there you might know. And a currency converter. Etc. It's like a frickin Swiss Army Knife for hyperlinks.
This sounds like the same thing AutoLink was doing, and "everyone" hated that. This sounds like it puts more control in the user's hands (which likely means it will end up being used less). Sounds like a good idea, but I suspect publishers will hate it.
