This diamond-drawing technology is not available in the current version of Java, but version 1.8 should include the java.util.homework.trivial package, which will take care of it for you. Unfortunately, by the time that release is out, you will probably already have flunked out of school and be flipping burgers at the local Micky-D's. :-o
