java job potential

Posted by Chin Loong on December 01, 2001 at 4:37 AM

hey guys, as u all know, i'm all the way here in south east asia, so i don't know how's the situation there in US or for that matter, the rest of the world :P

i'm just curious, how much does an average programmer (let's say.. java? :p) in US earns? I saw in somebody mentioned in javaranch dicussion that a java programmer with 3 years experience in US that's earning USD 60k per year is underpaid. Would that be true?

The pay here suck, if u guys are curious ;) the entry-level pay for a programmer here would be around USD 500 per month.
