rewriting is too slow

Posted by Tony NG on December 14, 2001 at 3:51 AM

Thx for answer, Senthoor!

But I would like just to cut off the first 10 bytes without rewriting the rest of the file.

I have a directory of about 1000 files to modify, that's why I dont wanna rewrite, it's 2 slow.

Thx for help.

> Can't we skip first 10 bytes of the file then from there onward write the file in a different file, So the resulting file would have everything except the first 10 bytes
