Real Time Graphs.

hi all,
i tried to draw real time graphs through java applet by taking data from a file in server.
the server is in linux system.
the problem is :
the applet works in all browsers in linux machine but its very slow on IE machines.
that is on linux machines its no longer a realtime graph...
whats the reason for it and also please tell how to avoid this problem.
