It's Python, which is much better for solving these sorts of problems. Additionally you could run it with Jython, which is Python implemented on the Java platform and you'd have a Java program. Of course, it might take some convincing before your instructor accepts that theory...

I wouldn't do this one in JavaScript, this sort of problem in JavaScript is probably even more trouble than doing it in Java.
