Equations for plotting graphs in Java?

Posted by Avin Sinanan on February 19, 2002 at 7:48 PM

Hello,
This is more of a maths question. I guess those of you who made graphing programs in Java would know the answer to this..

Ok this is my question -

When plotting points for a graphs in Java you can obtain the best liner fit by using the formula for Linear Regression which can be found in any Mathematics Text Book. But where can I find the formulas for bect Exponetial fit, or polynomial fit or RMS fit. Am no genius when it come sto maths. SO where can I find this information... under what mthematical topic will it be under?

Thanks
Yours respectufully Avin Siananan
