Reports from a Web server to client browser

We are currently developing a project using Websphere on Visual Age environment.
We have a requirement to generate reports - mostly template reports with a user-defined search criteria.

I am looking for a traditional reporting system where I can define layouts, get the search criteria from client browser and display the report back to the client.
My constraint is that the client side will only be a browser.

Are there any standard Java packages available or any third-party tools that I can procure for immediate use.
