OCSP response: Digital Certificate Status

Hello!

I am generating one OCSP request to check the status of a digital certificate.I am able to connect to one OCSP responder also. But everytime I am getting the status of the certificate as unknown (i.e., CERT_REVOCATION_UNKNOWN). I have changed the certificate whose status also. But I am getting the same response. While generating the OCSP request, I need my private key as well as digital certificate. For this purpose I have generated one request at my own and this request has been signed by Verisign (free trial ID).
I am not sure whether this could be a reason for the response I am getting (unknown status) as the certificate is for trial only or there is any other reason for getting this response.

Please, suggest me.
