Message:

Size of boolean

Posted by Frank Hardisty on July 05, 2001 at 5:07 PM

According to http://www.ibiblio.org/javafaq/javafaq.html, the size of boolean is 1 bit(!), not one byte, making it very efficient.

An array is an instance of java.lang.reflect.Array.

> Can someone help me with the size of a boolean variable in Java. I read somewhere that it is one byte but I am unable to confirm it.
> Also, please tell me an array is an instance of which class. I have a vague idea. I want a confirmed answer. I am not giving the idea so as not to confuse anyone.
