Is Microsoft trying to get rid of Java?

Hi everyone, just wondering about some things I've heard. Apparently Microsoft aren't going to put a JVM thing on their new Windows, in an attempt to stop people using Java programs.

Is this true and if so, what effect will it have on Java programmers?
