Problems with getParameter

Hi !
I have a JApplet running from an HTML page with several parameters . Now the problem is that when I try to access the values of any of these parameters through NETSCAPE using "getParameter()", the function returns NULL .
To make matters worse, it works perfectly fine when running on IE . Any suggestions ?
