Java and M$ zip

> i'm trying to created a zip file (which consists) of several pdf files and download from the web server to the user's pc. i'm using the ZipOutputStream methods to create the zip file. however, after the download, and after unzipping the zip file, the the pdf files are blank (they should have pictures in them). i tried using txt, doc, and bmp format and it works, but not for pdf.. why??

The zip File you create with ZipOutputStream (jdk1.1) are not proper zip files you can extract with pkunzip/winzip. You will only be able to unpack the Filenames as you did.
