querry about java interface

I have come across in java with something called abstract interfaces,but i failed to understand the use of it.like
public abstract interface xyz.
after all interfaces don't have any method defined in it & it is for the implementing classes to overide the methods & give the functionality,so the methods of interfaces are abstract in itself,so what is the use of wriring abstract interface.
