I got interested in Java after learning the basics of HTML, got Sam's J1.2/24 hours and Borland JBuilder, and went through the book. It was a good book but I couldn't get a grasp on OOP; the code seemed unnatural to me since the only contact I'd had with programming was a little QBasic when I was a kid. Anyway, after putting Java on hold for a semester I've come back to it and have been trying to find someone in the area (Delaware) who knows it since they don't have a class at the college yet. I just did get Beginning Java2 by Ivor Horton. It's big and seems like it'll help me out. I also search alot of various Java terms and forums. Most all the good tutorials and free online books showup consistently. Though I'm still struggling, it is slowly becoming clearer. During the periods I get too frustrated, I give it a break and do alot of reading. Gook Luck!
