Displaying an Image from an array of raw data???.

Hi,
I have a class that reads a .pgm Image(minus its header) into
an array byte by byte. Does anybody know how I can
display/reconstruct this image in an applet. I do need to work
in .pgm format, so there is no point in me converting the image
into JPEG, bitmap, gif .......

Any help would be much appeciated.
