How to install and run BeanBox from Java Development kit ?

Posted by Avin Sinanan on November 14, 2001 at 11:22 AM

Ok i am having problem installing beanbix from this site :
http://java.sun.com/products/javabeans/software/
when i went to this site i went to this protion of the page :

SOFTWARE

JavaBeansTM Development Kit

BDK 1.1 - April '99 download

JavaTM 2 Platform, Standard Edition SDK - download

Java Plug-In Software - download

....... which is at the top of the page .... and i choose to download BDK1.2 - April '99 download.

I clicked on the download button and then went download the version for Windows ( because i have a windos system).

After i downloaded it i installed it. Now after i installed it .. Hod do i run this program? Do i have to go is DOS and run it? Because there is no start up icon to start this program.
Right now i have JCreator LE V2.0

I even went in to the BeanBox directory and found the run.bat file. I double clicked this file to open it and the followinf message comes up :

C:\jdk1.3\bin\BDK1.1\beanbox>if "" == "Windows_NT" setlocal

C:\jdk1.3\bin\BDK1.1\beanbox>set CLASSPATH=classes;..\lib\methodtracer.jar;..\in
fobus.jar

C:\jdk1.3\bin\BDK1.1\beanbox>java sun.beanbox.BeanBoxFrame
Registry key 'Software\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment\CurrentVersion'
has value '1.1', but '1.3' is required.
Error: could not find java.dll
Error: could not find Java 2 Runtime Environment.

C:\jdk1.3\bin\BDK1.1\beanbox>

Ok i have no idea how to run this program...it this a stand aloneprogram or do i have to run this within another program.

If someone answers this question please use simple language and not to many tecnical terms... i know how to program and stuff but when it come to installing programs am not an Einstein.

Thanks for giving me some of your time....
