problem with downloaded applets and jbuilder

if a client downloads the applet once..can we avoid a new download everytime he logs on (by re-starting the applet from client cache).the applet size in our case is 1.5Mb

We are building an applet using JBuilder. However, it seems that the applet requires certain classes from JBuilder. Is there any way, they can use JBuilder and yet be independent from JBuilder's classes in their code. Or can we compress any dependencies to a very low size (less than 50k) -- How do folks generally deploy applets if they build it from JBuilder or other IDE's like VCafe, VisualAge etc.
