One more question

This is getting more interesting. Although I can not work on the problem full time, I can give my opinion on addressing the issue (and possibly work out a solution with you). Lets go one step at a time.

I would consider the servlet engine taking up memory, a serious issue. I am guessing (just guessing), even during the time the engine was alive, the response time of the pages was also high? Before deploying JSPs, are the JSPs precompiled? Heavens forbid, if no is the answer, I suggest, precompile them. Precompiled JSPs save a lot of memory, burden on the servlet engine.

Next, set TOMCAT_OPTS to something like -Xmx256m -Xms128m.

Hoping for the best,
-Jay
