standard notation for describing OO systems?

Hi,

Is there any standard notation for describing object-oriented systems by using graphical diagrams?

I would like to describe different relationship between classes (inheritance/abstract classes/interfaces/composed objects etc.),
should I invent my own diagrams notation? Is there any standard? any strong convention?
