A child can be the child of only one parent

Posted by From Sun Engineering on September 29, 2000 at 5:48 PM

A Component can only ever be the child of one component. With the above strategy you are adding a JScrollPane to be a child of a JPanel, which causes it to be removed from its current parent, the JSplitPane. JSplitPane will then only have one child.
