i am reji and now learning java right now. so as per my informations collected i would like to reply on your message
we can connect sql-server with an applet but it is not supporting the browsers. you have to invoke it with appletviewer with no security on the command line you will get.
and if you are setting the security permissions in it you have to update the exe file succuritypolicy in java\bin\..
